Galle Cancer Foundation

Our goal is to be able to support in instances where urgent medical attention is needed and the cancer patient is either unable to pay or is facing a delay for any part of the treatment not covered by the hospital.

We are committed to holistic wellness that is centred on the care of cancer patients, those living with cancer and those who are terminally ill with cancer together with their family and carers. We assist in pain management and counselling for cancer patients. We organise arts and crafts lessons, music therapy and yoga at the Palliative Care Unit as some of these complementary therapies are outside the scope of the services provided by the hospital yet may be crucial in maintaining emotional and psychological wellbeing.

We are driven towards a climate friendly model and regularly organise nature walks and engage in ecological practices such as planting indigenous trees and campaign for the reduction of plastic use.
We recognise that lifestyle changes contribute to long term wellness and improve survival rates.
